Add animation to your vinyl. The Rook sits on top of a record as it's playing and generates animation from any 16 slides that are placed inside the inner ring. Print it out of a heavy material like BronzeFill and it will double as a record stabilizer. Includes an animation sheet with vintage slide photography taken by Eadweard Muybridge in the 1870s and 1880s. See it in action. Read more about zoetropes on wikipedia. The main part (the drum) fits on top of a record just like a record stabilizer – and if you print it out of a heavy material like Colorfabb Bronzefill with 100% infill, it will print out to be around 275grams and actually double as a stabilizer. The inner part (the carousel) has 16 slots for animated slides (thick paper cut to fit should work just fine). Any looping animation will work. Print the inner part out of a white material, for the most amount of light. Or print it out of Bronzefill for another 36 grams of weight (for a total of over 300 grams) and then paint the inside white. I made the parts separate so that you can easily switch out different animations by printing out separate carousels for each of your animations. When running the turntable, a few tips: Place a light above it, if you can. The more light, the better. Also, faster is better. It's designed to run at 12fps at 45rpm. At 33rpm, the animation may be choppy, but at 78rpm, the animation should be quite smooth.
