Support is not necessary but can be helpful for some of the holes. When it's done, use two screws to hold it onto the wall. If you'd like to use this as a phone dock rather than just a shelf where you can charge your phone, use ABS glue, Sugru, or and equivalent binding agent to attach your charging cord to the small hole on the bottom of the shelf.
