I recently made a simple LED choker from fabric covered WS2811 addressable LED strip. The lights each consist of very harsh tiny points of light, so I printed a little light pipe diffuser cap to put on the top of each little 5050-style RGB LED to diffuse the light and carry it though the fabric lining to the outside. "Style 4" in the OpenSCAD file is the style I ended up settling on as being the best. Style 1 worked well, but was difficult to print, often getting broken when trying to remove it from the build plate, while style 2 and style 3 were both print failures (partly overhangs too severe), while Style 4 is largely a refined more rugged version of style 1, with less overhang, so less to tidy up.Printed on a Makerbot Replicator 2 with the included clear "natural" PLA filament, using makerware with the regular 'high' profile and shells set to > 20 to make the whole thing solid and out of concentric circles, without any grid-like infilling for nicer light distribution.
