I designed this thing so I could mount a laser pointer on a servo motor so I could scan the laser line across an angle for a 3d scanner a la http://www.makerscanner.com/.
From the photos you can see how it can be screwed onto a standard RC servo. As an added bonus, if you rotate the pointer in the holder, it will keep the button pressed and the laser on. Stick a cylinder lens (not shown, but can be made from any transparent cylinder a few mm in diameters) in front of a 'dot' pointer to make a line of laser light.Used openscad to design it and a makerbot replicator 2 to print it. I used 100% fill because the walls are thin. You can change the code to make a larger or smaller diameter, but as is it is about right for commonly available pointers powered by LR44 button cells.
