This is a remix of Auto touch Z end-stop.(https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:220709/) By Radus. I loved the simplicity of this auto bed leveling This mount leaves the X axis floating. Two mounts are needed, one for each side. The switches are supposed to be wired in series and firmware set to normally closed switches. When your print head hits the bed, the circuit will be opened and the firmware will register the height. Remember to set Z safe homing in Marlin since this will need to remove your standard Z Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER will depend on the amount of backlash when the printer head hits the bed. Opposed to probe auto bed setups, this value is positive. Mine is set to 1.1. Start with a high value (higher than mine), do a first layer test print. Lower it until you see a nice first layer. Starting low might break your printer. What I did was to incorporate a microswitch from a broken Onkyo reciever instead of the foil Radus has used. See the picture for measurements of the microswitch. I also made the mount for the original brass nut for Z axis shipped with my printer, instead of the normal nut that Radus is using. The holes for the wires to the microswitch are quite tight. I used wires from and old LPT cable. An ethernet cable should also be a good source for thin wires. Drawn in Sketchup, the .skp is there. Feel free to remix!Print with 100% infill and external perimeters first in slic3r. It is a tight fit for the switch.
