This was just me playing around with OpenSCAD, trying to make something sculpture-y and not necessarily functional. I haven't printed this one yet, and I'm not sure of its printworthiness. OpenSCAD render time was just short of 2 hours on my machine.Took a basic profile in Illustrator, imported into OpenSCAD with a linear_extrude + scale. Revolved that until I had a complete rotation and then did a difference() with another rotate_extrude that created the hourglass shape. I've attached the basic STL file that creates all the rotational shapes in addition to the OpenSCAD file. The OpenSCAD file references this STL file so you'll need it to complete the render. I'm still not a pro with OpenSCAD, just playing around.
