
Two adapters for a Canon SX230HS pocket camera:These adapters enable my Canon SX230HS pocket camera to venture into the realms of macro and micro photography.The trick is that (many) small cameras have an entrance pupil that's (about) the same size as the human eye's pupil. That means the camera can see (nearly) the same image through (most) optical devices as humans do. It's close enough!The 25 mm doublet lens I used has a 100 mm focal length, but that's simply because it was the best match in my Box o' Lenses; it should be slightly larger in diameter to reduce vignetting at anything less than maximum zoom. The LED ring light's ID must clear the lens, so a larger lens will require a larger light.The OpenSCAD script has enough parameters that you can probably make it fit whatever camera you own.
