I am honored to be Artist-In-Residence at the Art Institute of Chicago. Between now and the end of June 2014 i'll be working on a new body of work in the Ryan Education Center; and giving demonstrations in 3D printing, scanning and modeling. To celebrate the start of the residency I decided to scan and publish the second Lion by Edward Kemeys that guards the front steps to AIC on Michigan Avenue. In the summer of 2012 i scanned and published the north Lion and have since used this scan in many of my 3D printed art works. Today I am uploading the second Lion - who guards the south end of the entrance - i'll be working on making a number of pieces with both of the Lions over the next couple of months and integrating them into the demonstrations and workshops.
