
My PLA extruder warped and I needed to fix it. I transplanted the sawn off upper body to a new base of dibond/epoxy sandwich.This thing is the adapter plate that goes along with it. I made it to be able to mount my J-head to the new base that lacks a proper mounting hole. It's designed to fit inside the center of Pointedstick's X-carriage.Load DXF into appropriate program (e.g. inkscape) and print on paper as a drill template. Choose a board of adequate thickness, no more than 4.64 mm thick. Trace outline and mark centers of holes. Drill holes then cut outline (and clean up if necessary).The scad file is parametric if you need larger screw holes, different circumference or whatever. I haven't tried to print it, it may work if printed out of ABS, but I wouldn't bet on it.It's a bastard of a thing to make with hand tools. The centres of the big holes and the big holes intersect, so once you drill one of the larger holes, the other pilot hole (assuming you use pilot holes) is useless. I sacrificed the flat end of a carpenters pencil to keep the drill reasonably in place. Hences the not so tidy apperance of my copy.Don't try that at home, use a drill press! I would've if I had one.I'm currently using this, and it's quite solid. I had some slight problems aligning it to the filament hole of the extruder body, but a file helped widening the center hole enough to let it center properly. Use a leftover piece of filament to aling the J-head when marking the screw holes on the extruder, and when mounting, to make sure you don't misalign the filament feed.
