Hey if you want an LED light that you can simply point to the area of interest on the print bed, then use this simple hack. We find that a flexible lamp let's us put the light where it's needed. This is based on the Improved Parametric Extrusion End Cap (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:992119) so this hack should work for any other aluminum extrusion based CNC or 3D Printer with an exposed upright. After printing the replacement end cap, you're going to take apart the the clamp style lamp and do a little rewiring: First Print a new end cap for the top of double wide extrusion (this can be found http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:992119. The default OpenSCAD settings and Double Wide with One Hole stl files are ready to go for the end cap. You may have to repair the object with netfabb - still debugging why it's not manifold. Otherwise use the attached fixed stl file. Second Get the JANSJÖ lamp at IKEA (I think it cost something around 10 EUR or 15 USD). We got the model with the clamp -I'm not sure if the desktop model can be disassembled. If someone finds out please let me know and we'll update this post. By the way the precut treads on the Felix are different than the lamps but the lamp will catch - just don't destroy the the extrusion threading by over tightening. When finished it should look like the gallery photos.
