This is an armature link for a slingshot and shooter... used on Williams, Bally, Stern, Sega, and Data East pinball machines. The old part was P/N 03-8085 ... the new one is 545-5293-00 , which is a bit thicker (and presumably stronger), but still seems to work everywhere that the old one does. I included a model (STL and Sketchup file) for both thicknesses just in case. This piece connects the solenoid to the slingshot or shooter, and fairly commonly breaks... causing the sling or shooter to no longer work. I printed it with 100% infill in ABS, and it feels at least as strong as the original. Yes, I realize that it's only a 60 cent part, but I was helping a friend fix his pinball machine, and modeled and printed this in under a half hour while the machine was still apart... rather than paying $7 to ship a 60 cent part, and waiting a week to get it.I printed this with 100% infill at 0.2mm layer thickness in black ABS. To install, you need to partially remove the roll pin from the coil plunger so you can get the old (broken) piece out, and the new piece in. I used a hammer and a punch (and a towel to protect the metal plunger), though you could also press it out with a vise. Don't completely remove the roll pin if possible... that way it stays aligned and is really easy to get back in. Before installing, make sure that your printed part spins freely on the roll pin, as well as the slingshot/shooter side. If necessary, use a drill bit to expand the hole a bit (printed holes tend to be smaller than modeled). Once you've got it attached to the plunger by pressing in the roll pin, reattach to the slingshot/shooter by removing the clip and washer, sliding onto the peg, and reinstaling the washer and clip.
