Standoff posts for mounting printed circuit boards outside of cases.I have one of the FTDI EVE F800B boards and I wanted to do some software for it but I don't have a case. These standoffs have a small pilot hole in them, I used a #43 drill to drill it out so that I could 'tap' in some 4-40 BHCS machine screws to mount to the display. Some more of the same standoffs are used to mount a Nucelo board (the processor side) next to the display board. The way I am using these is to first attach them to my boards, then arrange the boards on a scrap piece of polycarbonate sheet. When the group is correct I put glue on the standoffs and glue them to the sheet. I can unmount or re-mount the circuit boards by removing the 4-40 screws. By having the various boards I'm working with arranged in this way, it keeps things like wires between them from being pulled off or tangled, and I can move the whole setup without worrying that the disparate boards will fall into a jumble. If you want you can even mount the plastic sheet on a wall.
