Looking for hold down options for your projects? This version uses a 1/4" hole that can be used with many CNC, Laser Cutter and other projects that require a flexible, fast hold down system for anchoring your material. . We have been using the CNC's at 757 Makerspace the last few months and using a wide range of materials for projects. One thing we found is that when using a spoiler board (aka sacrificial layer) is that screwing down work puckers up the material and also sometimes interferes with your project material. Recently we have been drilling our spoiler boards to accept 1/4" holes every two inches in the x and y position, this allows us to anchor our material using a wide range of options. The latest design we have been using is the use of a rotating cam to get tighter to materials that vary slightly and settled on the Golden Ratio or Fibonacci Spiral as the basis for the design. . If you find this useful, please take a moment to write a comment and click Like. Enjoy and Make On!There are two designs included; one with a rotating path and the other with two holes. . Field Note: The rotating path is ok, while the two hole design seems to work better (single point of rotation). . The original design file is included as a closed polyline in .dwg and .dxf and an extruded version (1/2" in height) as a .stl for anyone interested in printing vs. cutting/milling. Use a suitable bolt or t-nut system, rotate for more pressure and secure your design for cutting.
