Model of Mt. Everest generated from Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) 90m topographic data. This fulfills a long overdue promise (see http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:8763) to publish a recipe for making your own topographic models from raw data. Now available at Github: https://github.com/bld/Mt-Everest-from-SRTM-DataI haven't printed this. You have been warned. The base is a bit too tall, because it is scaled from sea level. These are the steps I took to generate a Mt. Everest model. The principles should apply to other locations.
