This builds on the thingiverse car mount by wdawes ( http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:207977 ). I added the pieces here, allowing for you to convert that car mount into a desk stand. [go to the link for the vertical mount, I have the horizontal version of the mount] - for iPhone4 in otterbox commuter case (sized for case)How to set up the parts is pretty self-explanatory from the pictures. There is some give in the parts, the looseness can be remedied by a shim (of paper of support plastic from a 3D print), or glue (if you don't care to disassemble it)... or you can try resizing the parts.It can hold the phone at different angles (for the phone to balance horizontal/parallel to the desk you have to rotate the base 180 degrees). The angle mechanism may become loose (but you can print multiples and glue them to your desired angles, and switch them out). I did not re-post his original design, but his design fits on my apparatus if desired.
