I know people have already experimented with this a bit but I thought it would be nice to have a slightly more elegant solution to the problem of mounting a pen or pencil or brush or whatever to the Makerbot (before I had just hot-glued a marker to my extruder).*Just updated it with an extra piece that you can print and strap on with rubber bands that allows the pen/tool to travel slightly, allowing better contact with the surface. It does this while still allowing the pen to be picked up off of the surface when you need to start a new line.Print out two of each. Assemble with 2 m3x30mm and 2 m3x16mm (or whatever works).*for the extra addition print out two vsidetop's and clamp together around the top of the pen with 2 m3x30mm's. reduce the tension in the main body to allow the pen to slide up and down and attach the top with rubber bands.I have yet to really mess around with the g-code * it to draw cool things (will definitely have to try TMR's parametric stuff sometime) but from my work with the frostruder editing the G-code shouldn't be too daunting.
