This came from my partner wanting to hang the heart on her belt while attending Steampunk events and my wanting to find a way to hold the heart better while turning it. Being clumsy, I kept dropping it.This is from "Emmett's Screwless Heart Gears" and the stand is by Mjolnir's "Stand for Emmett's Screwless Heart Gears"Since I already had the hearts printed, I manually made the modifications to the parts. I replaced the top pin (short) with a 1/4" x 1-3/4" cotterless hitch pin with D-ring.1) use a 1/4" drill bit and drill the hole in the top center piece all the way through. (When I get a chance I will update the stl file extending the shaft all the way through. The STL file included is unmodified).2) Insert a 1/4" x 1-3/4" cotterless hitch pin through the top piece and into the center piece. Mark where the top of the top center piece is on the hitch pin. 3) remove and glue a washer on the hitch pin at the mark you made. If you don't do this, then when you rotate the heart the center piece travels upwards.4) add some glue to the inside center piece and reinsert the hitch pin with the top center piece in place.5) let the glue dry.Now you just hold the bottom of the heart and use the hitch pin to twist away!At some point I will probably design and print a piece to replace the metal hitch pin. My first attempt at doing so was unsuccessful. I think instead of printing the pin/key with a hollow center it should be solid in order to make it strong enough to turn the heart gears.
