Magnetically Levitated Solar powered motor. I have been wanting to make one of these for while So I reviewed many Mendocino motor designs online, from there took the basic concepts designed and built my own one. Could do with a few more refinements but very happy with the end result. Fun Project to build ... im still busy with with the build WIP . I just have to solder the solar panels on and see how it works and then make any adjustments accordingly - I will add a video once I have finished, If you have any questions - let me know. update 13 Feb 2015 : Soldering the solar panels to the coils hurt my soul , i didn't know soldering would be so hard and i see now i did not take into account the wires under the solar panels - should have made space to fit them underneath. i will redesign the rotor > separate the coils & the solar panels making it better, easier to work with and test -- will upload V2 when im done. Update : 16th Feb Tested Motor over the weekend - it works https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gv453GNQk8c&feature=youtu.be You will need the following : Carbon Rod (ID 3mm OD 5mm) 2 meters in length to cut accordingly.
