A weather-resistant housing for sparkfun's PIR motion sensor: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/8630 ...the idea being to join together many water-resistant PIR sensors in a long daisy chain with cat5 cable and connectors. There is a huge gulf between "water resistant" and "water proof", Caulk everything. The sensor in particular needs caulk to stay put. Improvements from 0.0.1 include a) A lid that actually prints, and even snaps on securely b) Keyed cat5 receptors that rotate less in the main housing (Not perfect) c) Made the housing roomier just by rotating the sensor 90 degreesI print these on Makerbot's "medium" setting with 1 shell. They come out pretty sturdy, and usually don't need much if any cleanup. You will need to caulk in the PIR sensor at the very least, it won't sit securely without it. You may want to remove the 'fin' from the lid before snapping it on, to make it more flexible. It's there to stabilize the print. The threaded cat5 jack holders have spots in them to hold the guts from those cheap beige rj45 couplers you can find anywhere.
