I have been moving my clock designs in a steampunk direction. In keeping with that mentality, I decided the time-setting knob should also be steampunk-ish. I couldn't find anything decent around, so I took to OpenSCAD to design one... This design is to have a 1 to 2 inch diameter sphere glued in the middle. I will be using a 1-inch Uranium Marble, and lighting it with some UV to make it glow green-blue.The gcode files are for a Solidoodle. Print: 1 x handlehub 1 x BasicHandle1x4 OR (if you want to slice for different printer) 1 x handlehub 4 x BasicHandle1 Sand around the smaller end of the BasicHandles to fit snug into the handlehub. Glue with acetone and hold together with clamps. Paint with a cool brass spraypaint, and maybe add some texture with sand or textures spraypaint between layers of brass paint. Also attached are the OpenSCAD files, for your tweaking pleasure. sorry for the messy files, I'm still getting my OpenSCAD chops up to speed.
