This is my first thing! This model is based on the last surviving instrument made by OG maker Johann Porschmann (1680-1757). The actual piece resides in the Musikmuseet, Musikhistorisk Museum in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was measured meticulously in 1997 via CT scan and calipers. The resulting geometric data was published (see attached drawing) and this model is based on that. I really admire the embellishments on this piece and as I was modeling it I was amazed that such detail could be hand carved. My goal is to print this piece and I will update the post as progress is made. Source for drawing: http://www.bergstrom.dk/draw.html Update: I added a revised mouthpiece that I feel will play better. Update (4/7/15): I added a new version of the body (2.0) and mouthpiece (3.0) with a smaller bore through the center giving it thicker walls. This should hopefully resolve the problem with slicing experienced by rlevi.
