V_2 update pin was out of allignment with ground plane, and a bit too large i wanted a way to mount my iphone in my car so i could easily access it and view the nav when driving. its designed to fit my phone with my otter box case, but i have tried with a few friends phones, even iphone4s and most have fit ok enough. the bottom is open to allow charger and audio jack attachemnt, and the side is open where the volum buttons are.the little tab on the side of the fold down hinge is to allow you to hold the hinge upright when removing the mount from the vent,
