UPDATE December 22, 2013 Big thank you to everyone who have supported our project! At our own studio, we were able to raise $700AUD which is equivalent to 28,000 Pesos! It was donated to Red Cross Australia. This project will always be open so please everyone share your pins! UPDATE December 4, 2013 Hello all. Thank you for all those who have downloaded our pin. Please share with us your versions and hand-painted pins! We would love to see them and share them! To help the victims of one of the strongest storms ever recorded to hit the Philippines, we are raising funds to donate to the Red Cross for Christmas through the potentials of open-source design and 3d printing. Instead of doing a one-off donation, we hope this small project will create a ripple and amplify our intentions a hundred fold. We love pins! In light of this disaster, we have designed a pin that celebrates the Filipino word, "bayanihan" referring to the unified spirit and actions of the community to achieve a specific goal. It is our hope that with your help, by printing and raising money, we would be able to raise more funds compared to our small studio if we do it alone. Think Global, Act Local. With no secondary support structures and very small in scale, our pins were designed to be easily printed by any FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) 3d printer around the world. They are printed using 1.75mm White PLA filaments. They are then assembled, painted and finished by hand. We will provide the printers settings we used to print as a guide. So for one day (or a week), get involved and stop printing Yoda heads, owls, iPhone cases and little vases and print these fund-raising pins for the victims of Haiyan. Share your iterations! Share your printed versions!
