I Designed this spool as a little project to teach me FreeCAD and because my partner had nowhere for the film to end up but a cardboard box. It's for an 8mm (not super 8) film and designed therefore with a 1/4" compatible hole in the middle. I'd very much appreciate any feedback and improvements too.I used PLA on a 0.2mm layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle and a 185 degree setting on a heated printbed set to 60 degrees. Step 1: Print both halves. Step 2: Remove anything that might snag the film with a sharp knife. Step 3: Push the halves together making sure to line up the slots in the hub, You may want to use a cutting board or suchlike to press the two halves together. Step 4: If the fit is loose (That wouldn't be one from my dodgy printer) You could take it apart for a moment and glue it for a second go. Step 5: Drink yer milk and settle down punk! :-)
