Designed by our teacher to get her monitor to the correct height for ergonomic purposes. For design specs check out this PDF: http://www.thingiverse.com/download:1415140 Discovery - The design looks cool but is a bit flawed. There is a lot of torque at the pivot joints when the stand is not completely vertically extended. This means there is definitely a weight limit. It is currently being used to hold a smallish LCD monitor and had to be tightened with wrenches because hand tightening wasn't enough. Design suggestions: Modifying the arms and connection points to have a "toothed" pattern so that the rotation would lock in place OR a scissor lift design which would probably be able to hold more weight and only fall in a vertical (instead of arcing) direction if it couldn't bear the weight load. All parts printed with 6 shells and 25% infill for strength.
