One of my FAVORITE models of all time is The Bathtub U-boat by Skimbal http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6432 The file 'substandcupLS' is my final version. The 'substandcup' is a basic blocky version for editing. I have printed it numerous times including once at 2x scale (64" long) I wanted a better stand. Not only that but the hull number listed U-522 was for a IX class boat. The class listed for it is correct as this IS a class VII/C. There was no 622 but there WAS a 722 hull built. I've changed it so it reflects that. I drew this in Cubify Design to be sliced by Simplify3D and printed in my Craftbot at the usual medium resolution settings with NO raft or supports.
