Made these for a friends wine party - it is based on the file by rorleth (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:216658) but I really did not like the kerning (space between letters) of the standard type library, so I modified the code to use spiffsans by stuartpb (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:106256).To create custom charms, you will need OpenSCAD (http://www.openscad.org/), along with spiff.scad and spiffsans.scad (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:106256). Place the spiffsans files in the same directory as this .scad file. The variables to change are at the beginning of this file once open in .scad - type in your text and compile. Because spiffsans does not return the length of the type, you will have to fidget with the characterwidth variable to get the tag back plate to the correct width.
