First of all great thanks to the project F-F-Fiddle (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:219040) for idea of the violin printing. But after some time I decided to draw my own electric violin which will be more look like classic violin and also will use some classic violin parts. Violin was printed on Prusa i3 printer from PLA plastic. All violin parts are constructed with sizes suitable for printer bed 200 x 200 mm. Sizes of violin are close to classic violin 4/4. Strings, bridge, shoulder rest, chinrest are classic violin parts. Sound pickup with preamp were bought on ebay (you can find it by search words "electric violin pickup"). Pegs of violine were borrowed from guitar parts. Here is shot video about it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aOdIlK4IfM Assembly of violin http://youtu.be/vwLUZtvNNxM materials list: Printed parts - 5pcs bridge - 1pcs sound pickup - 1pcs electronic preamp - 1pcs guitar pegs - 4pcs metal rod M8x370 - 1pcs screws: m4x25 - 9pcs m4x50 - 1pcs m4x40 - 2pcs m3x8 - 4pcs (for pegs) m2x10 - 4pcs (for electronic preamp) nuts: m4 - 12pcs m3 long nut - 4pcs for hot installation in holes (for pegs screws) m2x10 - screws for electronic preamp I melt it directly in plastic Plastic parts I print from PLA with Prusa I3 printer. I'm using slicer Slic3r with fill density 10% but probably with 20-30% sound will be better.
