This simple chainmail is intended to be as quick and easy to print as possible, hence the square links and straight bridges. The one pictured here is striped because it was ditto-printed (an option in the Sailfish firmware to print simultaneously with both nozzles). This single print filled the whole Replicator build platform, but took just over an hour. This chainmail is extensible because the links along two edges are open, which allows you to knit other pieces of chainmail onto them them. You can see in one photo where I turned the sheet into a tube this way. The included STL is meant to be ditto-printed, hence the three separate sets of chainmail 33mm apart. If you're not set up for ditto printing, you can output a continuous piece in Customizer, or adjust for different nozzle spacing. You can change other parameters as well, but if you make the thickness too large, you'll just end up with a solid plate. I sliced this with the MakerWare medium default settings with two changes: 3 shells and 0.25mm layers. This ensures it doesn't try to infill where there's not enough space and also makes sure you end up with the right number of layers everywhere. I used PLA with a big fan, printing on cold blue tape over kapton. Make sure your platform is extremely level and your first layer is just squished enough. This printed without a single link failing.
