As delivered, the Ez3D Phoenix 3D printer does not provide any means for leveling the print bed. Replacing the original print bed mounts with this mount allows leveling screws to be added so print bed leveling can be accomplished. The existing print bed mounts are removed and replaced with the modified mounts. The new mounts are all the same - no left and right parts. They are mounted upside down relative to the original mounts to allow space for leveling screws and springs. Use the PCB heat bed as a drilling guide for the leveling screw holes in the aluminum print bed. The new mounts are taped for M3 x .5 screws. It would also be possible to simply flip the original mounts over and drill them for the screws using the heat bed as a drilling guide. The heat bed and aluminum print bed are mounted using four M3 x .5 screws that are 30mm long. A spring is placed between the bottom of the heat bed and the top surface of the supports. Compression springs with a free length of 25 mm and a diameter in the area of 6 to 8 mm would be appropriate for this application. Set the bed height so the upper surface is in about the same relative location as when the print bed was mounted with the original Ez3D parts. The bed level is adjusted by turning the screws. The springs allow for easy movement while maintaining enough vertical force to keep the print bed stable.
