I made a several 4'x4' garden trellis's cheaply by using low cost materials and printing my own connectors. For (1) 4'x4' trellis: Total cost is $10-$12. I've found the electrical conduit cheaper than standard PVC meant to carry water. Cut conduit into 4' & 6' pieces. Drill holes every 4-6" across the 4' piece, and drill more of the same for a length of 4' along the 6 piece. I printed the connectors in ABS since they'll be outdoors years round. I used 2 connectors per joint (front & back). Drill holes in the pipe corresponding to the connectors holes & then use zip ties to fasten them to the pipe. If you keep the flared end of the electrical conduit in place as the ground end of the 6' piece, then you can print a spike & insert it in the end to make the trellis easier to put in the ground. Run the clothesline both horizontally & vertically, and you're all set with a maintenance free, low cost, garden trellis. Happy Gardening!
