Cymbal springs work well with Gen-16 Acoustic-Electric cymbals - they eliminate cymbal spin and reduce stress on the bell area. There's one drawback, however, and that's that the added height of the spring puts the Direct Source preamp much farther from the cymbal than is normal, which looks a little goofy. This Thing brings the preamp closer to the cymbal for a better look that will better match any non spring-mounted cymbals in your kit.
