I've wanted to create a 3D zoetrope for awhile and this challenge seemed like the perfect opportunity to try, seeing as I could use the record player as the motor for spinning the zoetrope. I decided to create a simple animation of a ghost emerging from the ground, doing a back flip, and then disappearing back into the ground in a series of 18 frames. A standard vinyl being far to big to print on my printer, I broke the model up into parts that fit together like a puzzle. Simply print 2 of the centers, 6 of the spokes, both of the ghost parts, and one of the pillars and you should be good to go. For the best effect, print the ghosts in white and all other pieces in black. The parts aren't numbered so it may take a bit of figuring out to put it together in the right order, but as its not too complicated it should very doable. You can use a bit of super glue to make the whole thing permanent or you can keep it in pieces for storage and assemble it to impress your friend when they visit. Also, you will need to scale up all parts from millimeters to inches in order to print. P.S. I added a video to the gallery but due to the fact that my camera's frame rate and the frame rate of the zoetrope don't match up the effect doesn't quite work in the video. I assure you its much better in person. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga6dV340xCA
