Hi everyone This week my students from Computing in the Creative Arts had a public exhibit of their term projects. This project is close to my heart as I worked closely with this particular group of students who had very little technical background (one from film, one from drama, and one from comp.sci, all 2nd year students) but were deeply passionate about creating an interactive robot capable of expressing emotions and interacting with people. (The students involved were Lauren Abramsky, Kristy Titanic and Jesse Shaw, I will link to their websites at a later time) Watch it working: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqIDKVA1GFA (my students edited video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cB8393kkLGA (record/playback) In this version, the quadruped has 4 prerecorded states ("angry","party","confused","breathe"), triggered by the touch of a person in areas specified by the eyebrows and a tattoo that read "Mom", painted with bare conductive and used as capacitive sensors.1x Power Distribution Board (http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__38913__Hobb... 1x Arduino Mega (robotshop, adafruit, sparkfun, ...) 8x Analog Feedback Servos (adafruit) 1x Zippy Flightmax 1000mAh 15C (http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__19903__Zipp... 1x Bare Conductive Pen (Adafruit) 3x 10M Ohm Resistors 3x PushButtons 4x RGB Leds 4x servo_mounts_body.stl 1x frame.stl 8x hand_arms_mounts.stl 1x head_alone.stl 4x hand.stl 4x arm.stl Alternatively, you can print the parts in 2 runs (rep2x tray size) 1x body.stl 1x head.stl (If anyone needs .ai, .cdr, shoot me a message and I will upload them ASAP) Arduino code here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vq7j245edorlk0y/robot.ino In its current state, 2 separate sketches are used, one for pre-recorded motions, one for recording motions (I will upload the second at a later time as well as a single code as soon as i have time to work on this)
