This is a 3D scan of a carved pig I bought in Guatemala. It has a drawer which pulls out of its side. http://youtu.be/MJCwqyym3qk http://youtu.be/j71rIS9ma1YMy aunt asked me to print her a pig on my 3D printer (she collects them.) I looked around for a good model on Thingiverse, and didn't see anything that looked great. While we were on vacation in Guatemala, I picked up a wooden pig with a drawer for a belly. I liked it, and decided it was time to throw together a 3D scanner :) I built a 3D scanner with the RAMPS 1.4 board from one of my 3D printers, a stepper motor, a rotating platform, and a Canon A480 with CHDK (I plan to put this up as an instructable later.) I scanned in the pig and made the model with 3DSOM and retouched it with Sculptris to add some fine detail and smooth it out. I scanned the drawer separately, and used OpenSCAD to create the negative space for the drawer (which didn't scan in well.) I may do some additional work smoothing out the drawer. Print the pig and the drawer. Depending on the tolerances of your printer you may need to shrink the drawer slightly more.
