This is the first thing I have designed for 3D printing. I used Sketchup to design it. It is a little basket/box/container that I designed to hang on a piece of furniture at our house. I measured the furniture with calipers, wrote down the measurements, and created the design. One of the next things I want to design is a yogurt cup holder. As I was thinking about this, I looked at the model I had printed and went, hmmmm. I put the empty yogurt cup with a spoon in it in the basket and it didn't fall over like it usually does by itself. I may still design something separate, but for now it does the job! This was printed on my Makerbot Replicator 2X using red ABS plastic. I used the medium profile in makerware and set the infill to 20%. I set to use a raft but no supports. I used the default setting of the right extruder of my printer. I exported to x3g file which I copied to the micro SD card and plugged into the printer and printed it!
