For the metal hotends that don't fit right and wobble in the socket... Take the measurement of the original hotend, subtract the thickness of the metal flange and scale only in Z. Eg, my Robo3D needs a 1.2mm spacer for a generic metal hotend on Amazon, so I scaled it in Z 1.2x.
