The Tamiya Lunchbox 1/12 scale RC Monster Truck was designed around a classic NiCd/NiMH battery pack. Modern hard case LiPo packs have a hard time fitting the model due to the low profile battery slot. This modification, consisting out of a slightly longer battery guard as well as 3 spacers to add additional room to the battery compartment, can be printed and installed in minutes.Print all parts in ABS with 1 additional shell and 100 infill. It is a good idea to also increase the filament diameter by 0.03 -> 0.04 for a leaner print. The battery guard needs to be printed with raft and external supports. Install the new battery guard in place of the original brace (reuse the 2 original screws) and place the spacer between the out shell and the vehicle body as shown in the picture above. Insert your LiPo Pack and have fun !!!!
