This modular spool holder is designed to both be functional and ergonomic. The model is currently configured to take spools with a Inner diameter of 50mm using push button release mechanism. Uses a 8mm hardware bolt and nut (not Modeled) to secure the arm to the base adapter and another to allow the spool holder to spin freely The model includes the necessary files to create several different types of spool holder including: Single Spool Dual Spool With Filter (included requires glue and sponge) Without Filter In the future i intend to upload more base designs such as bolt down ones and more compact ones. And include more spool sizes. I have been unable to test the functions of this model as i don't have a printer as yet, as such some aspects may not function as intended, the main point of concern being the spool release mechanism. So as such, print at your own risk, however let me know of any improvements you think could be made and any feedback you have Please note, printing several of the pieces for this will require supports. I also recommend if you do make this that you use an adhesive to secure the two base pieces together. ***I will be printing and modifying this design in the coming weeks to test for functionality, so stay tuned, should have this completely functional in about a monthHolder Inspired by http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:119016Attach adapter piece to base plate using an adhesive glue, 2 part epoxy, superglue etc. Attach chosen arm to Base assembly using an 8mm bolt of appropriate length and secure in desired position with the corresponding nut Attach the spool holder to the arm assembly using an 8mm partially threaded bolt inserted into the arm, through to the holder, secure this with a washer and corresponding nut . lubricate as neccesary.
