This is my Open Source Version. This simple device will create a surface bond on your ABS objects. This bond is a 'skin' that fuses the outer surface of your 3d print and after hardening, your 3d printed object will become very strong. I printed a part the other day and stepped on it, it shattered and splintered into a million pieces of shrapnel. I took a duplicate of that part, ran it in the vapor machine for 25 minutes, let it harden overnight, and I can stand on the part. 'Nuff Said http://youtu.be/sspLS-6ww-IThe vapor machine consists of: 1 x Square glass 1 gallon ice tea dispenser w/lid @ $19 1 x variable speed 80mm case fan @ $4.99 1 x scrap metal grill from old ATX psu @ $0 1 x 5v Molex Power Supply @ $12 This is a VERY simple machine. Examine the sketchup file and look at my pics and my video When ready to use, pour half an ounce of acetone in the bottom of the chamber, close tightly and run the machine for at least 15 minutes and as long as the part can soften without deforming. Remove and let harden for several hours. Be careful, acetone is flammable, has a low vaporization point but is very dense and lingers.
