I have not printed it myself yet - but thought I would share the design so far - the full thing or in 3 printable parts (you will need an 8mm x 150mm steel rod & 6off 5mm x 20mm dowel pins - or you can try to print them) 16/03/15 Early days, just printed the prototype (took a good 7 hours) and although the print is not as good as I hoped (few gaps) it’s not too bad – needs a bit of acetone to smooth it out before spraying with silver metallic car paint. Realised the 3 sets of holes only allows as I designed or 120deg rotation of the parts – so not so good for the 1/10 left handers out there – sorry about that, I didn't mean to discriminate. So I might change that and have two or four holes. Also the parts don’t properly mate (flatness of the top and bottom) – very slight gap between them, probably my printer or print settings – not sure if I should put them in the lathe to finish the face off or to use an Acetone slurry to fill the slight gaps. Another thing I noted was the ribs on the base part could have printed better so I might make another version such that the ribs are printed separate and can be glued on using 416 Next step – fill the gaps or machine, mask the ribs and spray metallic silver Any feedback is always welcome to help progress the design Thanks ME!!
