
We have two Playmobil rabbit pens (Hasenstall in German), which can be connected together, but only one roof, covering only one half of the pens. Of course, such a situation is not acceptable when one has a 3d printer available. Therefore I took the opportunity to prove that the 3d printer can print something useful (besides the usual printer enhancements and calibration pieces). The new roof form-fits quite well onto the connected-together rabbit pens.The scad file is mostly parametric, so you can change the roof dimensions, number of planks, size of gaps etc. if you want. The stl was printed in silver PLA, 3mm with the following slicer settings: layer height 0.4mm, single outline, 25% infill, one solid bottom and one solid top layer. In the first layer (=top of roof), there are gaps to simulate the planks. Therefore, in the second layer, a lot of bridging will occur. However, this shouldn't cause a problem, because the bridging gap is only 1.2mm (Parameter P13 in the scad file). The silver PLA looks quite like the silver plastic Playmobil has used for the doors of the pen.
