This animatronic eyes where inspired by "Dasaki Compact Animatronic Eyes" here on Thingiverse. I changed all dimensions and the layout to make it a little more compact and flat at the nose (it was already a great design), easier to print on my RepRap printer with a layer height of 0.5 mm and to assemble it on top of my RepWalker Mutant RA04: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:326191 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p79ScA1z-Io RepWalker and the BT software are derivatives of the Shellmo Open Source Project: http://shellmo.orgThe design height of all parts is 0.5 mm. Therefore you should print it with a layer height of 0.5 mm (with your RepRap 0.5 mm nozzle - set the width to 0.6 in KISSlicer) with 0.25 mm layer height (on your MakerBot) or with 0.125 mm if you have too much time... If you have a not so good calibrated RepRap you should print the parts #01, #04, and #05 in the given orientation. This avoids even with a miss calibrated printer that "you" will look cross-eyed. As a suggestion I set up the #00-long-parts tray. The #07-eye-ball and the #08-pupil has to be printed twice. The rest of the parts are unique. If you like to hide the mechanics please print it in black. Afterwards you can also blacken the screws, the white servo parts and the wires with an permanent marker. The pupil can be printed in white and colored as desired. It will be glued to the eyeball. Take double sided tape for your first tests and use some super glue or Acetone - for ABS - to mount it forever. The structure is held together with M3 screws wich are screwed directly into the platic without nuts. The servos need M2 screws - also without nuts. I used "mini" servos from HobbyKing with a base flange mount of 23 x 13 mm. PS: The blue parts in the pictures above show a slightly older design but demonstrate how to assemble the eyes quite well.
