This is a replacement part for a broken clamp. You don't need to disassemble your printer to mount this replacement clamp. The distance of both rods is set to 9.5 mm from center points. It should fit to a Prusas Mendel.Still thinking about an easy print version. ...Adjust the friction and other parameters in the OpenScad file. That could take a while to calculate the OpenScad file.Print both parts (rclamp_plate.stl). First attach the screw part on the top rod. Then close the Rescue Clamp Box with the lock part and the lower rod using a 20 mm M3 hexagon bolt and a M3 nut. If you need more friction you can use some tape on the lower smooth rod.The durability test has started (15.12.2012). Some Experiments:Added an experimental hexagon bar clamp file. This OpenScad-file (development version) seems to be a dead end. The concept was to get friction to the lower rod by a rotation of both parts. But then the two parts seem to break apart easy. So you need an additional bold and nut for a stable version, because PLA can take a lot of pressure, but not so much shearing force.
