Here's a cool keychain I designed for Science City, Kansas City's Science Center! Enjoy! And don't forget to stop by Science City sometime and check out our 3D printers, as well as our other sweet exhibits and hands-on science experiments! Check us out at ScienceCity.com or UnionStation.org!I made this model in Blender. I started with a simple Erlenmeyer flask model, cut it in half, and flattened it substantially. To prepare the logo, I imported a .svg of a black and white version of the design. It took quite a while to clean up and prepare the mesh, as I had to combine many of the components, changing their sizes to ensure that the design would print well. I then used booleans to extrude the logo and keychain hole into the flask mesh. (Word of advice: if the booleans aren't doing what you want them to, double check the normals on each mesh, as they will dictate which direction the extrusion will go.)
