The only trick is getting the SVG files to an OpenSCAD friendly DXF (which is surprisingly hard on a Mac using Inkscape). I recommend saving to a .eps file and using pstoedit (http://sourceforge.net/projects/pstoedit/) which relies on Ghostscript.This is kind of the inverse of what tstrader is doing with the Many Coins script http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:37510
