Took the original Spool Support from DavidMR91 and modified it to fit both Sainsmart PLA spools and ProtoParadigm PLA spools. This will fit spools where the outer width of the spool is less than 64mm and the inner width of the spool is greater than 33mm. A version with a step and one without are both supplied. The advantage of this style of spool holder/support is that while it is easy to pull the filament in, it provides a small bit of resistance to prevent the spool from unwinding too quickly and causing tangles.Print without supports (for the version without a step) or with (for version with step) with a 100% infill. The vertical supports could be a bit thicker, as with a 20% infill I broke several. With 100% infill it feels much sturdier. To assemble, use 2x 608ZZ ball bearings at each corner, for a total of 8 bearings. I used 4x M4 by 30mm bolts to secure it in place. When printed without supports, I did not even need to use nuts, it threaded in nicely. There is a hole in the front of the spool holder, which some like to thread the filament through. I personally prefer to have the filament come from the top of the spool, as it goes directly into the extruder without forcing the wire to bend at crazy angles.
