This is a gear I designed to make because I broke one of the wooden gears provided with the Techzone Laser-cut Wooden Mendel Kit. I used this design to cut 1/16" plastic (laser-engraving laminated material). Photos include one showing a couple of wafers along with the damaged wooden gear, and another photo showing the assembled stack on the motor shaft.Prior to cutting with the laser, I put double-sided tape on the plastic so that all the pieces would stick together. The central hole was tried several different sizes until I found a size that would push onto the shaft and still be tight. Depending on the thickness or stretchiness of the material you work with, you may need to adjust the size of the central hole. With the material I used, after a few layers were stacked on to the shaft, it was very rigid and would not move.
