The Kontinuum Garden is a highly automated, rotating hydroponic system, designed to be almost entirely 3d-printed.It's a true food-factory. Extremely water and energy efficient, and equipped with a simple DIY LED-growlight, and a 3D-printed pump system. The capacity will be for 60 plants. We are making the Garden because we want to change the way people think about food. We want to use 3d-printer technology to make sustainable automated food-production available for all people, everywhere. Our hope is that the garden will help people around the world be more independent and grow their own food.We are also building the printer which will make this. The "Kontinuum Reprap" is our design for a reprap with a print area of roughly 1 meter squared, allowing it to print one garden in only 4 prints. We are funding the development of the Kontinuum Garden and Kontinuum Reprap on Indiegogo.com/Kontinuumgarden Please go check it out. We're trying to slice these files right now for a printer with a 1mm aperture hot-end - we'll let you know how it went.<[EDIT: The large wheel sliced on my tiny netbook in +/- 4 hours. The paths look fine, except it didn't make the last solid layers - just kept making walls and infill right until the end. Hmmmm - Not sure what the problem is, time to try some different settings.]If anyone has experience with large prints, we would love some pointers as to the possible problems we might run into. Slicing, printer mechanics, plastic, whatever.Or hey! If you have a 1x1m 3d-printer, you can have a go at printing it yourself...."KG Box 42.stl""KG Base 22.stl"This is the main base of the Kontinuum Garden, which supports everything else. This model still needs quite a lot of clean-up before it's ready for printing, and the design will still need to be adjusted to fit the gearing and watering mechanisms etc.Measurements are: Length: 90 cm Width: 75 cm Height 25 cm.AOI-files. These files contain all the elements that went into making the pieces for the garden. If you want to tinker, just look inside one of the "ORG Objects" nulls. All the geometry, splines, booles, arrays and whatnot are in there, organized with the first basic object at the bottom, so you can work your way upwards and make the adjustments you want. Enjoy :-)
