One of the things I love about 3d printing is that it actually creates a whole community without which the boundries of 3d printing would be severely limited. Recycling other peoples ideas and things, not only greatly reduces the time needed to fullfill your needs , but it also creates a basic toolbox where you dont need to design everything from scratch My idea was to mount my TFT monitor on the wall and also to put in two rails (similar to the X-axis of a 3d printer) in order to be moved parallel to my bench. So I got a VESA mount from this thing http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:213447 and the Z bar clamp from Mendel90 (adjusted for 12mm bars) and I designed a carriage you can screw the monitor vesa mount (stealing the linear bearing trap also from mendel90) and Voila! now my monitor is attached on the wall moving a meter to the left and right I also included the freecad file for anyone who wnats to adapt it to her own needs.you just print the parts. VESA mount is for both 7cm and 10cm VESA variety . the Carriage is designed to be used with 12mm hollow bars (I use aluminum) instead of linear bearings, as I believe the use of linear bearings is an overkill for the application. zipties secure the bars on the carriage :)
